IMCA Contracts & Insurance Seminar attracts impressive list of speakers and delegates

Back to the Negotiating Table – Working Together

The programme for the International Marine Contractors Association’s (IMCA) Contracts & Insurance Seminar, with its theme ‘Back to the Negotiating Table – Working Together‘, has drawn together a stellar list of speakers, and an equally impressive list of delegates, ensuring searching questions from the audience and productive networking. The half-day Seminar is being held on 20 September at the Royal Academy of Engineering, Prince Philip House, on Carlton Terrace, London.

Allen Leatt, IMCA’s CEO, said: “As can be expected from Nathalie Louys, IMCA’s Contracts & Insurance Committee Chair, and Subsea 7’s General Counsel, and her Committee colleagues, we have an impressive list of speakers for the Seminar to address ‘Ethics and compliance – a shared challenge’; ‘Achieving a FAIR and sustainable risk allocation’; and a panel discussion on ‘Working together: realigning the risk foundations for long term success’. They are all are geared to exploring new ways for oil companies and contractors to work together.”

The topics have led to a notable list of delegates encompassing specialist insurance and legal experts, representatives of offshore oil and gas companies and marine contractors. Job titles hint at their interests – C-suite executives, Tendering Managers, Risk Managers, Insurance Brokers, Contracts Managers, Legal Directors, Legal Counsels, Contracts Managers, Principal Engineers, and Commercial Managers.

Seminar topics will be addressed by speakers from oil companies including Ryan Hartman, BP’s Vice President, Ethics & Compliance; and John Prowting of Chevron. Contractors will be represented by Subsea 7’s Andrew Hayward, Group Head of Compliance and Ethics; Todd Krammers of McDermott; Simona Livia Rasini, Head of Business Integrity, of Saipem; and David Blackmon of Heerema Marine Contractors and Vice-Chairman of IMCA’s Contracts & Insurance Committee. Legal and insurance specialists speaking will be Clare Kempkens of KL Gates LLP; Simon Moore of Stephenson Harwood LLP; and Nick Coffery and Joe Brennan both of INDECS.

Allen Leatt will be speaking on ‘The challenge of delivering large complex projects’ at the seminar.

The Seminar will be followed by a networking reception.
