IMCA supports International Anti-Corruption Day – 9 December 2020

The International Marine Contractor’s Association (IMCA) recognises and supports the United Nations (UN) International Anti-Corruption Day which falls on 9 December.

This year’s campaign entitled “Recover with integrity” aims to raise awareness of the risks of the increased potential for bribery and corruption brought about by, for instance, any  changes in government funding, trading volumes, and other activities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The UN included a statement in its campaign: “that all governments, businesses, civil society and all stakeholders – must resolve to work together to promote accountability and end corruption and bribery.”

International Anti-Corruption Day is an ideal opportunity for any individual or organisation, irrespective of geographic location or business activity to assess their own practices.

“We know that our Members are keen to ensure they conform to ethical business practices and IMCA’s Member Code of Conduct. IMCA worked with Transparency International to develop its Anti-Bribery and Corruption eLearning module, which is freely available on our website.“

“The purpose is to train, explain, and encourage anti-bribery and anti-corruption best practice and support all IMCA Member organisations on this critical subject. The e-Learning module may be particularly useful to our Members with more limited in-house compliance training capabilities.”

How to use the online module

Users can access the ABC eLearning module online via this website – see below.

Upon successful completion, a certificate can be printed for records.

Users will need to enter their name and company name on the first page of the training module, this is stored in the browser to enable the certificate to be generated, but this data is not stored or tracked by IMCA.
