Early feedback on DPO CPD launched in March

At the end of March the Nautical Institute (NI) and IMCA launched a Dynamic Positioning Operators (DPO) continuing professional development app.

While it is still early days for the scheme the feedback received so far has been very positive.

The scheme, which is run by NI and is accessible via their Alexis platform, is designed to help DPOs maintain their technical knowledge of the latest industry practices. The app will expand professional awareness of the latest IMCA/industry guidance; DP safety bulletins; DP exercises and training drills; and assist in improving safety and operational efficiency offshore as well as technical knowledge.

• 100% stated they enjoyed the app.
• 87% stated right amount of content and convenient to use.
• 45% used the offline functionality.
• 89% stated they would recommend the app to a colleague.
