CEO Update – January/February 2022
Welcome everyone to the first issue of Making Waves for 2022. We started off the year on a positive note with the launch of the Environmental Sustainability Committee’s online Self-Assessment Tool which will enable Members to track their progress against IMCA’s recommended code of practice on environmental sustainability. As I have said before, environmental sustainability is fast becoming a business imperative, and this tool is another step for our Members on the journey towards net zero.

Pete Somner, who died suddenly and prematurely on 16 December 2021, had worked in the energy industry for over 40 years, and his natural ability to adapt allowed him to move effortlessly between disciplines – now diving, then marine, but also project management, quality, and safety. For a long time Pete was a leading member of IMCA’s Marine Committee, including a spell as Chair, and over the years has been very influential in the growth and development of IMCA.
