IMCA's Asia-Pacific Section meeting to be held in Bangkok

A number of topical presentations will feature at the forthcoming Asia-Pacific Section meeting of the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA), being held at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday 17 August.

Hosted by Denis Welch, IMCA Regional Director Asia-Pacific, the meeting will feature four guest presentations:
‘Getting paid: Dealing with insolvency and payment risks” by Chanaka Kumarasinghe from Holman Fenwick Willan;
Mike Meade of M3 Marine talking about IMCA’s M117 and DP focus workgroup;
Richard Bowcutt of Rolls Royce looking at ‘Development of LNG as a fuel’;
Jake Fichter of Mermaid Subsea Services talking on ‘Lean sigma and lean culture for sustainable safety’.

The meeting, which is open to IMCA members and guests starts at 09:00 with coffee and registration. Denis Welch will be giving a general IMCA update covering the new Lifting & Rigging Core Committee, IMCA’s Governance Review, a Secretariat Update, and news on an analysis of the association’s technical library review progress. There will be news too of the 2016 Annual Seminar ‘Operating Successfully in the New Era’. Following that, there will be updates on IMCA’s Core activities and reports from the four Technical Divisions, before Denis Welch provides a report on policy and regulatory matters.
