Allen Leatt, Chief Executive of the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA), will be speaking at the Marine, Construction & Engineering (MCE) Deepwater Development Technical Conference (Milan, 9-11 April) on IMCA’s latest safety initiative on “Resilience in the Workplace”.
Since the IMCA Resilience Awareness Programme was launched online in late January, there have been over 4,000 downloads and views from the IMCA website and its YouTube page. The programme was developed by leading members of IMCA eager to help the industry’s workforce cope and adjust to the challenging business environment in recent years. It is tailored specifically for the marine contracting industry, but is freely available to all sectors for the betterment of the whole industry.
Allen Leatt explains: “I am delighted to be speaking on the IMCA Resilience Awareness Programme at MCEDD. There is strong evidence that a resilient workforce is a safe workforce – and safety has been the all-important priority for IMCA and its members over past 40 years.”
Filming for the videos took place onboard vessels of Subsea 7, Saipem, and Heerema Marine Contractors. The Programme is sponsored by IMCA’s board member companies: Allseas, Fugro, Heerema Marine Contractors, Saipem, Subsea 7, TechnipFMC and McDermott International and is based on the Shell Resilience concept.
