IMCA to hold 2022 DP Conference in Amsterdam
Published on 23 February 2022
The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) is set to stage its two-day Dynamic Positioning (DP) Conference in Amsterdam at the Steigenberger Airport Hotel on 31 May-1 June 2022.
Aimed at those involved in both offshore renewable energy and offshore oil and gas DP operations, the event will provide an opportunity for IMCA members and industry colleagues to participate in an industry forum where attendees will hear from experts actively involved in dynamic positioning and have the opportunity to take part in Q&A sessions and workshops that will help formulate the work programme for IMCA’s DP Committee.
Looking forward to the event, Mark Ford, IMCA’s Marine & Quality Manager said:
“Dynamic positioning is in our DNA as IMCA’s heritage goes back to 1989 in this area. It is fair to say that outputs from this two-day conference will influence and shape this area of our industry. By joining us in Amsterdam you can influence future development strategies and code/guideline improvements. The full programme and exciting line-up will be published shortly.”
Key topics being covered at the IMCA DP Conference will embrace:
- IMCA DP Reflection covering all aspects of DP from within the Secretariat covering key areas of the DP Committee’s ongoing programme
- Assurance & Training covering DP content and findings analysis from eCMID and eMISW, the latest on DP training, accreditation and continual professional development (CPD)
- A dedicated session on operational challenges including a look at shallow water operations. This will offer an opportunity to hear from the people behind the DP desk, DP Annual Trials & Assurance, Decision Support Tools, and IMCA guidance for renewable energy projects. The session will culminate with an industry expert open panel discussion.
- An IMCA Totally Technology quickfire session for which companies are now invited to submit proposals in order to deliver short snappy presentations on a range of new and innovative technical and operational areas.
As Mark Ford explained:
“The Quickfire Totally Technology session has long been a regular and popular feature at IMCA’s Annual Seminar. It provides an opportunity for often small and medium-sized companies to showcase their ideas and innovations to industry leaders in a dynamic and inspiring way.“
