Mark joined IMCA after working as freelance consultant engineer providing project management, inspections, audits and marine warranty services. His extensive career has encompassed roles with Bue Marine, GEO Marine, Swire Pacific Offshore, Sealion, Gulf Offshore.

Mark has a wealth of experience in offshore operations, vessel assurance and DP (Dynamic Positioning). He was one of the first IMCA accredited Company DP Authorities.

Mark is expert in offshore lifting operations, marine warranty and has worked on major subsea construction projects and on heavy lift vessels.

Mark de Barr has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, is a Chartered Engineer (MIMechE), a European Engineer (Eur Ing) and is a Chief Engineer.
