IMCA fully supports Seafarers Delivering Christmas campaign

Under the hashtag #SeafarersDeliveringChristmas, the maritime industry has come together to develop a range of initiatives to help show both gratitude and thanks to all the seafarers who have maintained the movement of global trade throughout this turbulent year.
IMCA is supporting the Seafarers Delivering Christmas campaign, highlighting both the ongoing crew change crisis created by the pandemic and critical work of seafarers and offshore workers in keeping economies running









IMCA’S Asia-Pacific Regional Webinar offers Technical Presentations and a Regional Update

Registration is open for the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) Asia-Pacific Regional Webinar taking place on 9 December (start time 08:00 GMT). The event, hosted by IMCA’s Asia-Pacific Regional Committee, focuses on current and topical issues and provides an opportunity for IMCA members throughout the vast region to hear the latest on the work of IMCA alongside two technical presentations from guest speakers.

Energy Transition in focus at IMCA’s North America Regional Webinar

Registration is now open for ‘North America: Energy Transition to Renewables’ the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) North America Regional Webinar taking place on 3 December (08:30hrs CDT).
The event is hosted by IMCA’s North America Regional Committee and provides an opportunity for IMCA members throughout North America to be updated on the work of IMCA.
It embraces offshore wind; environmental sustainability; IMCA’s recent activities concerning COVID-19; the recent US Coast Guard policy changes relating to diving; and the latest IMCA guidance documents and activities.

IMCA Publishes “Guidelines for Walk to Work Operations”

The Marine Renewable Energy Committee formed a workgroup consisting of vessel owners, wind farm operators and motion compensated gangway manufacturers and worked alongside an oil & gas focused industry steering group consisting of representatives from leading manufacturers of motion compensated gangway systems.
The W2W guidance has been produced to help standardise the way in which vessels are intended to give personnel safe access to offshore structures both in the wind and oil & gas industries. Heave compensated gangways fitted to vessels stabilise the motions of the vessel so that people can transfer safely from a vessel to an offshore structure or platform.



Diver Safety: IMCA and ADCI work together to achieve US Coast Guard Recognition

A Policy Letter ‘Commercial Diving Operations – Equivalent Levels of Safety’ published by the United States Coast Guard was issued in October and applies to all USCG regulated vessels operating anywhere in the world. The Policy is not only set to improve US diving safety, but also bears testament to the combined efforts of the Association of Diving Contractors International and the International Marine Contractors Association who have worked closely together for many years.
