Updated IMCA Competition Law Compliance Policy

IMCA has updated its Competition Law Compliance Policy, which can now be found here. The original document has served us well since December 2003, but the latest version tightens up certain language in-line with current practice.

Unofficial ROV technician accreditation

A number of individuals have contacted the IMCA secretariat over the last few months seeking clarity on their ROV technician competency and operator grade status. Almost all wish to get guidance on how to acquire IMCA certification or accreditation for their ROV skills, grade or position in their company. Please be aware that IMCA does not issue certification or accreditation for any ROV technician competence listed in our competence framework, or any other company or training provider competence framework. CMID Accreditation Scheme update

Congratulations to Peter Solvang, Managing Director of DP & Marine Assurance Norway and Johan Bager, MD/Principal Surveyor at marine-surveyors.euon becoming some of the first CMID Accredited Vessel Inspectors (AVIs). Management change within IMCA secretariat

IMCA’s Chief Executive, Chris Charman, has stepped down, with immediate effect (as from 1 May). Jane Bugler has become Acting Chief Executive, thus ensuring that IMCA is in very safe hands. A new Chief Executive will be sought to take IMCA forward and continue to deliver ever more support for our 1,000+ members in over 60 countries. When IMCA members flocked to Copenhagen in March for EWEA Offshore 2015, we saw it as an ideal opportunity to reach them by hosting a seminar in conjunction with the show. ROV Intervention During Diving Operations

IMCA has produced a wide range of video publications, on subjects such as Competence Assurance, Piracy, Working at Height and Neurological Assessment of Divers. IMCA has now made these video publications available to view online to members and non-members alike.
