The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) recently held one of its regular Europe & Africa Section meetings in Luanda, Angola. “This was a very successful ‘first’ for us,” explains Jane Bugler, IMCA’s Technical Director. “The event was co-hosted by Pascal Grosjean of Technip, Chairman of the Europe & Africa Section and IMCA Technical Adviser, Nick Hough. IMO accepts IMCA paper as basis for updating DP guidelines

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has agreed to use the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) proposals as the basis for the review of the IMO Guidelines for vessels with dynamic positioning (DP) systems (MSC/Circ.645). IMCA Appoints New Marine Technical Adviser

Andy Goldsmith has joined the International Marine Contractors Association as Technical Adviser Marine, with particular responsibilities for DP (dynamic positioning). “With 17 years on a range of DP vessels under his belt, and as a long-time user of IMCA guidance, Andy is an ideal addition to our busy and highly qualified technical team working with our Technical Director, Jane Bugler,” says IMCA’s Chief Executive, Chris Charman. Andy’s career began with Texaco Overseas Tankship at 16. The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has recently published the revised document ‘Hyperbaric Evacuation Systems (HES) Interface Requirements’ (IMCA D 051 Rev. 1); and an Information Note that demonstrates the importance of cross-industry collaboration of a topic as vital to safety as hyperbaric evacuation. A new IMCA membership category entitled International Contractor (ICo) will come into play in the new year. Record breaking IMCA annual seminar held in London

During the past two days, 520 delegates from 30 countries attended the Annual Seminar of the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) in London (19 and 20 November).
