ProjectGHG Hub
In July 2023, the Member States of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) adopted a revised strategy for Net Zero emissions by 2050. In parallel, new taxation rules are being introduced across the EU and beyond to encourage industry progress on carbon.
ProjectGHG is IMCA’s new campaign which will help Members meet these changing expectations and support the industry to chart a course to Net Zero.
With investment decisions on vessels and engines being made today which impact on tomorrow’s emissions, now is the right time to bring Members’ together to explore some of the solutions that will need to be developed.
“Together we will need to find the solutions for a dramatic and transformative shift in approach… We hope you will be able to join us and play your part.”
Iain Grainger, CEO IMCA.
Our Secretariat-led ProjectGHG Forum took place in Papendrecht, NL on Wednesday 10 April 2024. Kindly hosted by IMCA Board Member Boskalis, it brought technical and business leaders from across the Membership base and the wider industry together for a conversation on the changing regulatory framework, new carbon taxes, shifting client expectations, and inspirational best-practice from Members. It created a vital space for industry debate on the solutions required – notably around alternative fuels. Replay the sessions below.
A series of Briefing Papers and Information Notes will be published throughout 2024 exploring related topics such as, alternative fuels, fuel consumption, emission reporting standards, taxation, finance, and workforce training. We will also explore changing client expectations and GHG emissions.
With a proud legacy of facilitating industry collaboration, we are ideally placed to support our members to find the solutions. Interested in becoming involved? Get in touch with the IMCA team today.
