OSEA 2024: Offshore Energy Week

This year’s OSEA will take place from 19 to 21 November 2024 at the iconic Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. IMCA is a supporting partner of OSEA 2024. The 49th edition of this long-standing conference will feature insightful sessions, forums, exhibitions and networking opportunities across an entire week. The event will highlight the pivotal role that the offshore sector can play in decarbonisation. More than 500 exhibitors will showcase their services and technology to around 18,000 delegates. WFO Asia Pacific Summit

The World Forum Offshore Wind (WFO) Asia Pacific Summit addresses the mid to long-term development of Offshore and Floating Wind projects across the region. The next WFO APAC Summit will be held in June in Tokyo and will continue the themes from the 2023 edition providing a great opportunity to explore further collaboration in the region. Workshops reveal DP community’s views on GHG ambitions 

Last year IMCA held two workshops with the Dynamic Positioning (DP) community covering GHG emissions and the challenges for the industry to meet the more stringent IMO GHG Targets for the offshore fleet worldwide.   Held at the DP Asia Conference in Singapore in June 2023 and at the IMCA Regional Meeting in Rio de Janeiro on 9 November 2023, the two workshops reveal differing regional perspectives, as well as common concerns around the new interim targets.   In both Rio and Singapore, workshop participants were experienced DP professionals who shared their knowledge gained from years of working offshore.  Overall, both regions

Safety videos break 1.8 million views as new Thai language channel launches

A new Thai language YouTube channel has launched devoted to improving offshore safety. The channel, run by IMCA, shares 15 safety videos which have been translated from English. Available to all and for free, the videos ensure that offshore workers originally from Thailand can access safety information from IMCA in their native language.  Designed to offer a bite-sized and engaging means of accessing offshore safety best-practice, the videos are ideal for companies looking to complement their own internal safety awareness and training offering.  Among the videos launched are safety films on working at height, line of fire, confined space and

Taiwanese delegation gets safety best practice at HM Coastguard

On Monday 12 June, IMCA hosted a delegation of officials from the Taiwanese government. The group, made up of maritime safety experts and representatives working in offshore wind, joined Iain Grainger, IMCA CEO and Rhys Jones, Technical Adviser – Maritime, for a tour of the joint response unit of HM Coastguard in Fareham, Hampshire, UK. IMCA Appoints Director of Client Engagement Asia-Pacific

The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has appointed Jason Veerasingam as Director of Client Engagement – Asia-Pacific. Jason Veerasingam is experienced in working with engineering consultants, leading EPC contractors and offshore service providers. In the last 25 years, his focus in the South East Asia market has enabled him to build successful business development strategies for national and international companies in the region. His last role was as the Area Manager at Boskalis Offshore.
