IMCA urges members to be vigilant against fabricated certificates

The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has asked members to treat with utmost caution, any certificates, other than those listed on their website, that depict IMCA logos or portray IMCA approval. The Association was made aware of a number of doctored ROV certificates, being circulated in the Asia-Pacific region, despite the fact it does not currently issue, approve or accredit ROV certification. IMCA Accredited Diving System Inspector Scheme in Development

The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) is currently developing its IMCA Accredited Diving System Inspector (ADSI) scheme which will introduce an industry-recognised professional accreditation for this important group of skilled workers. ADSIs will be accredited to conduct IMCA Diving Equipment Systems Inspection Guidance Note (DESIGN) audits. IMCA Launches Unit Two of Diving CPD App

The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has launched a new unit of its App-based continuing professional development (CPD) scheme for Diving Supervisors.The App incorporates the latest in training techniques to support Diving Supervisors in keeping up to date with current information and guidelines from IMCA.The scheme went live early in April with 250 diving supervisors who had pre-registered and now, within six weeks, more than 600 supervisors are using the system.The App can be used across many mobile devices and operating systems, on or offline, thus allowing users the flexibility of choosing when and where to complete the relevant modules.

Application Process Now Open for IMCA's DP Practitioner Accreditation Scheme

The application process for the International Marine Contractors Association’s (IMCA) DP Practitioner Accreditation Scheme opens today (1 May 2019). The launch sees additional support documentation added to the IMCA website and the first dates announced for examinations with further dates to follow. Two categories of practitioners are eligible for accreditation: A DP Trials and Assurance Practitioner, i.e. an individual actively involved in producing, witnessing and assessing the results of DP Failure Modes and Effects Analysis proving trials and DP annual trial programmes; and A company DP Authority, i.e. the responsible individual for a vessel operator or end charterer for managing
